A Willamette Valley Engagement Shoot with the Lovely Andrew + Virginia
This couple knew exactly what they wanted for their engagement session: a wine-themed shoot at the Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in the Willamette Valley.
For the first half of the shoot we set up a picnic in the vineyard complete with a few love songs strummed and sung by the talented duo.
Their flame was ignited at a jam session in Portland so of course it fit the moment perfectly.
I have to say, I adore Miss Virginia's style. Her dress matched the autumn colored grape vines PERFECTLY. And I have the same exact fur (thank you, Grandma!), except a shade or two darker.
(Both fur stoles are vintage. The animals have been dead longer than we've been alive. Please don't call PETA!)
The second half of the shoot got a little messy. As it was fully intended to be. Instead of just drinking wine, the twosome decided they wanted to make some Love Wine of their very own.
Enter: grape stomping.
The weather was amazing -- warm and sunny. We were so fortunate to have such a perfect October day to shoot. (If you know this area, you know it rains nonstop from around October to June.)
These guys were so much fun to photograph. I can't wait to shoot their wedding in June at an orchard on Mount Hood!
They both fell out of the wine barrel. They both laughed hysterically. So. Effing. Awesome.
The grape smashing team had already changed back into their street clothes when the sun was just about to sink behind the trees. We took advantage and snapped a couple bonus shots before heading back to Portlandia.
